Our CEO Amir Farboud will once again take on the Ride Across Britain cycling challenge, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Having completed the challenge twice previously and raising over £5,000 for Macmillan through a series of events, this third attempt with see Amir complete the 980 mile route between 7 – 15 September 2024.
Commenting on his decision to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support once again, Amir said: “One of my darkest moments in Medicine was when a patient we were treating for cancer was half way through and committed suicide. It’s not something I talk about a lot, but I felt that more could have been done to make his journey easier. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about him.
“I believe cancer sufferers go through a horrendous time from diagnosis through treatment and it can seem relentless. Macmillan are there to help that process and get patients and their families through the despair, the pain, the never ending hospital visits and more. I support their work through my charitable efforts as one day I may need to call on them for support.”
Setting another impressive target for his fundraising efforts, all donations are greatly received. To donate please click here. Thank you from the entire Unisurge Team.
